Juniors and Adults Clinics at Jackson Country Club

We have a wide offering of junior and adult clinics ranging from 3-4 years old to USTA tournament players to 4.0 ladies to cardio tennis. We can service all of your tennis needs here at JCC whether you are just looking to hit some balls, get an intense workout, instructional doubles or singles clinics, beginner lessons, 3 year olds tiny tots program, advanced technical and tactical lessons, social events or USTA tournament training.

We really promote the long term development for all of our players and do not place the emphasis on winning straight away. In our junior clinics we really focus on using step by step progressions to help develop each student and to help them move into the next class when they're ready. Everything we teach in our clinics comes from the best teaching methods in the world, which is backed up by science, and the most up to date statistical data regarding tactics and strategy. As the majority of tennis points (60-70%) last less than 4 shots we put heavy focus first strike tennis and use the data from the world's leading tennis strategist Craig O'Shannessy. We work on tactics and strategies for all 3 phases of the point but put an emphasis on the first phase with the serve +1 and return +1 patterns of play.

Below are the 5 levels of our junior development program.

Tiny Tots
Tiny Tots

This class is for 3-5 year olds and is a great athletic skill building class. We introduce the basics of tennis as well as building athleticism and motor skills such as running, jumping, sidestepping, balance, throwing, catching, and tracking. This is a great class to build a strong athletic foundation that is necessary for developing more advanced skills in the future.

Orange ball Big Hitters
Orange ball Big Hitters

This class is for 4 -7 year olds who can demonstrate the basic tennis strokes and can make solid contact with the ball consistently. The focus is now more on developing the strokes. These juniors are able to participate in the clinic without parental help.

Junior Development I
Junior Development I

This class is for 6-10 year olds who have solid fundamental strokes. These juniors are ready for competitive point plays but not yet ready for match play. We place the emphasis on sound stroke production and being able to create a solid ball strike.

Junior Development II
Junior Development II

This class is for 8-12 year olds who are ready for USTA orange, USTA green or middle school players. The emphasis is on hitting the correct ball strike to targets on the move and developing serve and returns.

USTA Tournament and High School Class
USTA Tournament and High School Class

This is for juniors who are looking to compete in USTA tournaments or make the top of their school teams. These juniors should want to play USTA tournaments and be able to play with focused intensity during clinic, point plays and matchplay. The emphasis is on footwork, fitness, developing a solid base game and developing their serve +1 and return +1 patterns of play.
